Catalina Prebisch, M.Ed., LPC-S, CART, CCTP
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a board approved supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas, with almost two decades of experience in helping individuals and families live their lives with fulfillment and happiness.
Originally born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I have called Houston home since 2002. My multicultural background has given me a deep appreciation for the unique experiences, values, and perspectives that each person brings to therapy. I am fluent in Spanish, and I enjoy doing therapy in both languages.
I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology and master's in counseling at the University of Houston. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of settings including a private learning center, a high school in the Alief ISD, a non-profit organization, a counseling center, as well as a private practice office and a behavioral health hospital. These experiences have provided me with the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults and families facing a wide range of emotional and life challenges. I have also received intensive training in mental health evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults.
My areas of specialized training include trauma, emotional regulation, couples therapy, and anger management. I am a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist (CART), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider. I have completed Level 1 and 2 in Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, an approach grounded in the extensive research on relationships and the clinical work of Drs. John and Julie Gottman.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and develop the tools they need to move forward with greater confidence and fulfillment. I believe therapy is not simple about addressing a problem- it is also an opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and creating the life and relationships you want.
